Gabriel with the Seven Inch Reel

GABRIEL WITH THE SEVEN INCH REEL - Lisa's Boy b/w I Want To Feel You (Zay Dee 209)

Poppy folk. Nine sixty-somethin'. Lubbock, Texas. The publishing carried by John Sands of Plainview who also ran the Ohn-J label, best known for the post String-a-Longs work of Keith McCormack and the Strings of Fortune. Gabriel and the Seven Inch Reel themselves appear unknown.

I was first attracted to the downer "Lisa's Boy", but am now rather enjoying the sprite, orchestrated flip.

Very nice.

Downer recordings never do much for me, but that sunshiny pop side is about as good as they come. Thanks for the listen.
